Analog collage composition with screen print and Pantone® paper. Philemon, with his wife Baucis, is a character from Greek mythology (popularized in Ovid’s Metamorphoses) known for his piety and unmatched hospitality (xenia) in Phrygia. When gods Zeus and Hermes, disguised as mortals, were rejected by all others, Philemon and Baucis offered them their best hospitality. As a reward, the couple was saved from a flood that destroyed the selfish inhabitants of their village and had their home turned into a temple. Finally, in response to their desire never to be parted, the gods turned them into intertwining oak (Philemon) and linden (Baucis) trees. Source Wikipedia
